Employment and Support Allowance Employment and Support Allowance (ESA) was introduced on 27 October 2008, and replaced Incapacity Benefit and Income Support, paid because of an illness or disability, for new customers only. Disability Living Allowance If you are aged under 65 and need help looking after yourself or getting around find out more about Disability Living Allowance. Tax Credits For your household to be eligible for tax credits, you and /or your partner must be aged 16 or over and usually live in the UK. You may still qualify if you do not live in the UK.
